An exciting opportunity has arisen within our building control team for a Trainee Building Inspector. We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, confident and solutions focused individual with a flexible approach to work and a ‘can do’ attitude.
Working alongside a highly respected professional team, you will be provided with support and training in all building control and administrative matters to eventually become a licensed Domestic Building Inspector. As a trainee you will assist with ensuring buildings meet regulatory standards in design, sustainability, accessibility, fire safety and structural safety.
You’ll need to have good problem-solving skills and use your excellent communication skills to explain technical terms and regulations clearly to members of the public and other professionals.
The building inspector role is an interesting one that involves a combination of daily site inspections and office work where no two days are the same.
This is a career pathway post with full support provided through our career grade framework and you will be provided with full support to fulfil your potential.
This role is aimed at someone starting their career and looking for their first position in building control or those with construction experience looking for a new career.
Enthusiasm, being a team player and a willingness to learn are vital.
Suitable candidates will need to hold a current driving licence and/or the ability to travel around West Suffolk.
